Welcome to the Pauper Cube Polling app

This app allows for easier voting and management for opinions regarding The Pauper Cube. Data collected by this application will be used to inform future decisions about the exact cube list. Please treat this tool with respect and don't try to manipulate votes or it will just get taken down eventually

Start off by signing up and you can start voting either on cards already in the cube, cards by their newest set, or just every card out there.

The most useful thing you can do is vote on each and every card so we can get the most data possible, but we understand that's a bit of a nightmare task. If that seems like too much, voting on what's actively in the cube is the second best, it helps with cuts in each update. Finally, remember to vote on stuff you like, the committee browses cards with high NPS scores to see if there's anything interesting to discuss including.

About the site and stats

This site uses a pair of polling statistics to try and determine community opinion on cards that could potentially be included.

Net Promoter Score (NPS)

The first is a Net Promoter Score, which is a common business metric used to determine customer satisfaction. It's calculated by subtracting the percentage of detractors (people who gave a card a negative vote) from the percentage of promoters (people who gave a card a positive vote) and dividing by the total number of votes, yielding values from 100% (universally positive) to -100% (universally negative).

Elo Score

The second is an Elo score, which is derived through Elo Comparison, where you choose between two cards, a calculation is done using the relative scores before the vote and each is changed by an equal amount of points according to the difference in score. This means that a card at 1000 Elo losing to a card with 2000 Elo will not move either of them by very many points. This is done to try and get a more accurate representation of the relative power level of cards to one another.

Retirement And Decisions

If a card dips too low in terms of both NPS and Elo, it will be retired from the site, and not be visible to users unless they opt to see them. This is done to try and keep the site from getting too bloated with cards that are clearly not going to be included. These numbers are not the only determining factor for cards that are included in the cube, but have a strong influence on decisions made by the committee when we update it.
